Lot 38, The life and Times of Samuel Kincoon
Samuel Kincoon was a globally notorious bartender and rogue who travelled the world trying to document the effects of magic potions used in various cultures. Described but Time Magazine as a cross between Anthony Bourdain and David Attenborough, he was known to delight and terrify, charm and insult locals in equal measure.
Samuel Kincoon never came to fame as a bartender, he was a much more talented explorer and researcher. His sometimes abrasive attitude gained him access to dangerous and foolhardy situations that a more measured man would not experience. He was also hopeless at recording any of his adventures. However, his greatest wisdom was to take along his wife, Catharine, and it is from her letters home that we can glean this little known history at its source.
